Sarah Boyd
Sarah has over ten years’ experience working as a user experience practitioner on a range of intranets, websites and web application projects in both public and private sectors. Sarah is passionate about the user-centred design process and is an exceptional facilitator of user research and design activities. Sarah has also provided mentoring and training, helping clients foster and develop their own UCD skill base and design culture.
With a low-key, practical approach Sarah draws out and analyses the true needs of users and engages with all parties to balance their needs in a final usable product.
Charmaine Brown
Charmaine has over thirteen years experience working in the digital industry. During this time she has worked with digital agencies incorporating creative, strategy and development teams as well as specialist User Experience consulting firms. She has been part of an array of projects including campaign websites, e-learning, software applications, intranets, content management systems and digital support for offline offerings. Charmaine has extensive experience working with large multinational organisations across a wide range of industries including finance, insurance, pharmaceutical, media, entertainment, travel and resources.
Kim Chatterjee
Kim Chatterjee has over six years of experience working in large government IT departments as a business analyst. Her work has focused on designing web and desktop software systems based on user-centred design principles.
Her depth of experience allows Kim to advise and select appropriate channels for communication , and to design efficient interfaces and interactions to meet users’ needs. Kim has also developed extensive knowledge and experience in the area of accessibility, helping to develop a dedicated team’s capability for implementing and testing accessible solutions.
Kim is an effusive and enthusiastic trainer, and has also tutored at the University of Canberra on a range of subjects, including user-centred design, information systems and object oriented modelling. She is a regular guest speaker on the subject of accessibility.
Taryn D’Souza
Taryn specialises in information architecture and usability and has a strong record of creating successful user experiences online. With more than eight years of experience in the US, Australian and Indian markets Taryn has both an extensive understanding and practiced skills in user-centered design methodologies, business and functional needs elicitation and interaction and information design.
Taryn has the ability to plan, manage and direct ‘User Experience’ in product design. She also has experience in applying strategy, design, management skills and user experience across a range of products (including e-learning training modules, kiosks, mobile phones and hand held devices, intranets and web-based products). Taryn’s approach to her work ensures improved human computer interaction and she prides herself on attaining a return on each client’s investment.
Ruth Ellison - Principal Consultant
Ruth is a human computer interaction (HCI) specialist having worked in the field for approximately eight years. After studying Human Factors and Information Technology at university and graduating with honours, Ruth has worked with two large, high profile government agencies assisting in the set up of user-centred design (UCD) teams and integrating UCD techniques and methodologies into everyday business.
Ruth co-convenes the Canberra branch of the Web Standards Group and recently represented Australia as the user experience expert in the FullCodePress competition. She also acts as a tutor at the University of Canberra for students studying HCI. Ruth has a particular passion for accessibility and oversaw accessibility standards in both Centrelink and DIAC.
Scott Lacey
Scott is an experienced designer who has worked extensively in multimedia and advertising. With more than a decade as a new media practitioner, Scott has developed a skill for making useful and engaging projects for both the corporate and the government sectors. With a background in both interface design for both web and CD_ROM projects, Scott combines an ability to distill the needs of the user into meaningful designs with a solid understanding of underlying technical issues. This combination means his designs are both effective and feasible.
Paul Liddelow
Paul is an experienced usability consultant and visual designer, with seven years of experience in the fields of market research, information technology, graphic design and usability. He has developed skills in interface, interaction, and visual design applying user-centred design principles in all of these areas. Paul excels in producing contemporary, beautiful, and standards-based design, working hard to keep fully up-to-date with industry trends.
Lisa McArley - Principal Consultant
Lisa has over 14 years experience in both traditional and “new” media including television, radio, IVR and the Internet. For the past seven years, Lisa has focussed on the online world, advising and supporting clients on how to better reach their audiences and achieve business goals by using her thorough project management, user experience, information architecture, business analysis and marketing communication skills.
Richard Perdriau
Richard has more than seven years’ experience in the analysis, design and implementation of interactive systems, having expertise spanning multimedia, website design, e-learning, knowledge management and online business applications. It is his combination of design and implementation skills that allows him to specify systems that combine usability, accessibility and ‘flare’, whilst ensuring that his designs are practical and can be readily implemented.
Scott Turner
With a diverse career spanning 10 years in Information Technology, Scott brings a unique skill set to any project, with strengths in project management, interface, industrial and new media design.
Leveraging his experience in usability on both software and hardware applications, Scott has worked on a varied cross section of projects applying aesthetics, usability and ergonomic principles in product design and development, as well as interface design and usability analysis to software control systems and online monitoring systems.
